A4-to-A5, A4 tri-fold and custom dimensions should not be presented as the only standard choices. Order a size currently enabled in the calculator.

Paper and Printing Options

Gloss Art Card 250gsm The only standard paper currently listed online.
Full-Colour One-Sided Printing Suitable when artwork and Spot UV are required on the front only.
Full-Colour Two-Sided Printing Suitable when both faces contain printed artwork.
Art Card 260gsm and 310gsm are not shown in the current product selector. The printing process is also not presented as a selectable specification, so avoid promising offset printing.

Matte Lamination and Spot UV Options

Matte lamination creates the smooth base surface. Spot UV adds gloss only to selected artwork areas.

Front Finish Matte Front + Spot UV Front

Suitable for single-sided brochures or projects requiring the selective gloss effect only on the main face.

Two-Sided Finish Matte Both Sides + Spot UV Both Sides

Suitable for two-sided printed brochures requiring selective gloss elements on the front and back.

Spot UV is not the same as full-surface gloss lamination. Only the areas identified in the separate UV mask receive the glossy raised-looking contrast.
When Spot UV is selected on both sides, the order should also use two-sided printing and matte lamination on both sides.

Creasing and Folding Options

Folding availability depends on the selected flat size and production template.

Half Fold One crease line divides the sheet into two folding sections.
Tri-Fold Three brochure panels created using two dividing crease lines. Use the correct folding template.
Z-Fold Panels fold in alternating directions to create a zigzag opening.
Cross Fold The printed sheet is folded across two directions to create a compact finished format.
Gate fold is not shown in the current selector. Check the existing “Tri Fold – Tri Creasing Line” setting because a standard three-panel tri-fold normally requires two crease lines.

Artwork Preparation Guidelines

Submit the printed artwork and a separate Spot UV mask that aligns exactly with the intended gloss areas.

Printed Artwork File
  • PDF or AI is preferred.
  • Prepare the artwork at the selected final flat size.
  • Use CMYK colour mode.
  • Images should be approximately 300 DPI at final printing size.
  • Convert fonts to outlines or embed them correctly.
Separate Spot UV Mask
  • Supply a separate black mask file for the Spot UV areas.
  • Black areas represent the elements that receive Spot UV.
  • Keep all non-UV areas white or empty.
  • The UV mask must align exactly with the printed artwork.
  • Clearly label front and back UV files when two-sided Spot UV is selected.
Bleed and Safe Area
  • Add 3mm bleed on every side.
  • Extend background colours and images completely through the bleed.
  • Keep important text and logos inside the safe area shown on the template.
  • Keep critical content away from trimming and folding lines.
Spot UV Artwork Recommendations
  • Use Spot UV selectively on logos, headings, patterns or important graphic details.
  • Avoid applying Spot UV to every element because the contrast will be less noticeable.
  • Avoid placing critical UV details directly across a fold or crease.
  • Check that front and back masks match the selected finishing option.
Fold and Panel Layout
  • Select the fold before finalising the design.
  • Use the official template for the chosen size and fold.
  • Check the front cover, back cover and panel order.
  • Do not assume all folding panels have identical widths.
  • Avoid important text directly over crease lines.
Technical File Check
  • Image Magic may perform a basic technical check for size, margins, bleed, colour setup and the Spot UV mask.
  • This check is not a design, layout, retouching or proofreading service.
  • Customers remain responsible for spelling, prices, dates, telephone numbers and QR codes.
  • Incorrect artwork or masks may affect the production schedule.

How to Order Spot UV Brochures

  1. Select the Size Choose an available flat size from A7 to A3.
  2. Select Printing and Finishing Choose printed sides, matte lamination and Spot UV sides.
  3. Select Creasing or Folding Choose the finishing option compatible with the selected size.
  4. Upload Both Files Submit the print artwork and separate Spot UV mask.

What is the starting order quantity?
The current online product starts from 300 pieces per design. Different artworks require separate quantities.

What paper is used?
The current product uses 250gsm gloss art card.
What is the difference between lamination and Spot UV?
Matte lamination covers the selected brochure surface. Spot UV adds gloss only to selected areas identified in the separate mask file.
Can Spot UV be applied on both sides?
Yes. The current selector includes front-only and front-and-back Spot UV options. Two-sided Spot UV should be paired with two-sided printing and matte lamination on both sides.
What folding options are available?
Current choices include creasing only, half fold, tri-fold, Z-fold and cross fold.
What files must I upload?
Upload the complete print-ready artwork and a separate black Spot UV mask showing the areas that require the selective gloss finish.
How long does production take?
