Cover and Content Specifications

The current direct-order configuration uses 80 gsm Simili paper for both the cover section and content pages.

Cover: Simili 80 gsm The current standard cover paper is not thick art card.
Content: Simili 80 gsm Lightweight uncoated paper for economical bulk printing.
Full-Colour Outer Cover Print the designated outer cover surfaces in full colour.
Outer and Inner Cover Colour A second option includes full-colour printing on the outer and inner cover surfaces.
Full-Colour Content Content pages are printed in full colour on both sides.
No Lamination Cover and content lamination are currently listed as not required.
Customers requiring a thick art-card cover, matte or gloss lamination, Spot UV or another premium finish should request a separate quotation or select a more suitable booklet product.

Bulk booklet orders can be heavy. Delivery charges and suitability may depend on the final quantity, page count, carton count, total weight and delivery location.

Artwork Preparation Guidelines

Submit complete, print-ready artwork matching the selected product options.

File Format and Page Arrangement
  • PDF is the preferred print-ready format.
  • AI files may also be supplied when required.
  • Submit one complete multi-page PDF in normal reading order.
  • Do not arrange the pages as printer spreads.
  • Include all blank pages in their correct positions.
  • Make sure the PDF page count matches the selected order page count.
Finished Size and Bleed
  • Prepare every page at the selected A4 or A5 finished size.
  • Add 3 mm bleed on all sides where artwork extends to the trimmed edge.
  • Extend background colours and images fully through the bleed.
  • Keep important text and page numbers at least 5 mm inside the trimming edge.
  • Keep important information clear of the centre fold and staple area.
Colour, Resolution and Fonts
  • Prepare artwork in CMYK colour mode.
  • Images should be approximately 300 dpi at their final printing size.
  • Convert fonts to outlines or embed them correctly in the PDF.
  • Embed all linked images before exporting.
  • Very light colours and fine details may reproduce differently on uncoated Simili paper.
Basic Technical File Check
  • Image Magic may perform a basic technical check for size, page count, bleed and print readiness.
  • The technical check is not a design, layout, proofreading or content-correction service.
  • Customers remain responsible for spelling, dates, prices, page numbers and document content.
  • Incorrect or incomplete files may delay the production schedule.
Multiple Designs
  • The 300-copy minimum applies to each individual design.
  • Different covers or content files are treated as different designs.
  • One minimum quantity cannot be divided among several different booklet designs.
  • Multiple jobs must use the correct quantity and specifications for each artwork.
Before Approving Production
  • Confirm the finished size and orientation.
  • Confirm the quantity and page count.
  • Confirm the required cover-printing option.
  • Check every page in reading order.
  • Check spelling, contact details, prices, dates and QR codes.
  • Confirm the required completion and delivery date.
