What Is a Kiss-Cut Sticker?

A kiss cut passes through the printed sticker face material but does not cut through the complete backing piece. The finished order contains one kiss-cut sticker on each individual backing piece, with a surrounding border that helps with peeling, presentation and handling.

Important product distinction: Kiss-cut stickers are not supplied as loose die-cut pieces and are not supplied as multiple stickers on one sheet. Each order piece contains one kiss-cut sticker with its own surrounding backing.

How the Product Options Match the Finished Sticker

Select every option according to the actual artwork and application. The material, shape and lamination must match the option chosen in the calculator before print-ready artwork is uploaded.

Sticker Size Enter the final cut size of the sticker, not the surrounding backing. Prepare the artwork at the same finished dimensions.
Quantity Per Design The selected quantity applies to one approved artwork. Different names, flavours, colours or versions are separate designs.
Waterproof Use this selector to identify the correct material group. PP Matte and PVC Gloss are the waterproof synthetic choices.
Material Type Choose one of the nine current materials according to moisture exposure, surface, appearance and required sticker shape.
Printing Color The standard option is Full Color Printing. Special-effect material colours can influence the final CMYK appearance.
Sticker Shape Choose rectangle, square, circle, oval or custom shape. The supplied vector kiss-cut path controls the finished outline.
Lamination Choose Not Required, Anti Curl Matte Lamination or Anti Curl Gloss Lamination according to the selected material and finish.
Backing Border Leave sufficient backing around the cut sticker for easy peeling. The exact border should follow the current artwork template.
Production Time Select an available schedule only after the artwork, bleed and kiss-cut path are complete. Delivery time is separate.

“Waterproof” describes the face material under normal use. Final durability also depends on the ink, lamination, cut edges, adhesive, application surface and cleaning method. Kiss-Cut Sticker Artwork Preparation

Upload print-ready artwork at the selected finished sticker size. Image Magic provides printing and a basic file preflight; the customer remains responsible for final design content, spelling, dimensions and cut path.

Recommended File Format
  • PDF, AI or EPS is recommended.
  • Prepare colour artwork in CMYK.
  • Use approximately 300 DPI at final size for raster images.
  • Outline or embed all fonts.
  • Prepare the artwork at the size selected online.
Bleed and Safe Area
  • Add 3mm bleed when printed colour reaches the cut edge.
  • Extend backgrounds fully through the bleed.
  • Keep important text, barcodes and logos at least 3mm inside the cut path.
  • Do not place essential information in the surrounding backing border.
Kiss-Cut Path
  • Supply one closed vector path for the finished sticker outline.
  • Place the path on a separate clearly named layer.
  • Use a magenta spot stroke or the exact die-line setup required by the template.
  • Avoid duplicate paths, open paths and excessive anchor points.
Backing Border
  • Allow sufficient surrounding backing for easy peeling.
  • Keep the sticker reasonably centred within the backing piece.
  • Do not assume a custom backing outline unless the calculator provides it.
  • Follow the current template for the permitted backing dimensions.
Barcodes, QR Codes and Small Text
  • Maintain adequate contrast and quiet space.
  • Avoid placing codes too close to the kiss-cut edge.
  • Test scanning at the actual printed size before a large order.
  • Use readable type sizes suitable for the material and label size.
Special-Effect Materials
  • Expect CMYK colours to change on gold, silver and pearlescent bases.
  • Standard CMYK does not print opaque white.
  • Prefer smooth shapes for sparkle and pearlescent materials.
  • Request a printed sample when colour or surface effect is critical.
Multiple Designs
  • The minimum quantity applies to each individual artwork.
  • Different flavours, names, colours or versions are separate designs.

Which material can be written on?
Simili Sticker has the most suitable writable paper surface. Test the intended pen or marker because drying and smudge resistance can vary.
Which material is suitable for bottles?
PP Matte or PVC Gloss is normally more suitable for bottles exposed to normal moisture. Test adhesion on curved, chilled or low-energy plastic containers before a large order.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The current CMS states that orders start from 100 pieces per design. Confirm the live calculator before publishing this as a fixed minimum.
How long does production take?
Standard production is approximately 2–4 working days after the order and print-ready artwork are confirmed. Delivery time is separate.
