Dry indoor application: The current product description classifies these metallic stickers as non-waterproof. Keep them away from moisture, condensation, prolonged refrigeration, washing and outdoor exposure unless the actual material and completed sticker have been separately tested.
Material specification to confirm: The calculator names the six finishes but does not identify the exact substrate, thickness or adhesive. Do not advertise them as paper, PET, PP, PVC, removable adhesive or permanent adhesive until those specifications are confirmed.

Choose from Six Metallic Sticker Materials

Glossy materials produce stronger reflections, matte materials create a softer low-glare appearance, and pearl-effect materials provide a more diffused shimmer. The swatches below are visual guides only; the actual appearance changes with lighting, viewing angle, printing and lamination.

Glossy Silver

Bright, reflective silver finish for modern logos, premium packaging and labels where a stronger metallic shine is required.

Matte Silver

Softer silver appearance with less glare than Glossy Silver. Suitable for understated branding, information labels and contemporary packaging.

Pearl Effect Silver

Diffused silver shimmer with a softer pearlescent appearance rather than a strong mirror-like reflection. Suitable for beauty, wedding and gift packaging.

Glossy Gold

High-shine gold effect for luxury packaging, festive labels, wedding seals and promotional artwork that requires a prominent reflective finish.

Matte Gold

Muted gold appearance with lower glare and a more restrained premium look. Suitable for elegant labels and minimalist branding.

Pearl Effect Gold

Soft gold shimmer with a pearlescent visual effect for cosmetics, gifts, wedding stationery and premium product packaging.

For colour-sensitive packaging, request a printed sample on the selected material. A screen cannot accurately reproduce metallic reflection, surface texture or the effect of CMYK ink over gold and silver backgrounds.

How Full-Colour Printing Works on Metallic Material

The standard calculator currently offers Full Color Printing. Because CMYK is printed over a coloured reflective base rather than white stock, the selected material influences the final colour.

Printed CMYK Areas Colours combine visually with the selected gold, silver or pearl background and may appear different from the same artwork printed on an opaque white sticker.
Unprinted Metallic Areas Leave clearly identified areas unprinted when the original metallic material should remain fully visible as part of the design.
White Artwork Standard CMYK does not print white. White artwork should be treated as an unprinted metallic area unless a separately confirmed white-ink process is available.
Gold Base Colour Shift The warm gold background can influence light colours and brand tones more strongly. Test critical colours before a larger production run.
Silver Base Colour Shift Silver provides a more neutral metallic base than gold, but printed colour still remains affected by reflection and the underlying finish.
Pearl-Effect Appearance Pearl materials create softer shimmer and lower mirror reflection. Fine colour differences may look different under warm and cool lighting.
White ink is not a standard selectable option in the current calculator. Do not advertise or include white ink in the normal price unless a separate production process and quotation have been confirmed.

Match the Lamination to the Selected Metallic Finish

Lamination changes the final surface appearance. Select it according to the required look instead of assuming that every metallic material should receive the same finish.

Original Material SurfaceNot Required

Retains the selected material's original glossy, matte or pearl-effect surface with no additional front laminate.

Lower-Glare Front FinishAnti Curl Matte Lamination – Front Only

Applies a matte protective layer to the printed face. It reduces glare and can mute the mirror reflection of glossy gold or silver materials.

Shinier Front FinishAnti Curl Gloss Lamination – Front Only

Applies a clear gloss layer to the printed face. It increases surface gloss and may change the appearance of matte and pearl-effect materials.

A glossy base with matte lamination will no longer retain its original mirror-like appearance. A matte base with gloss lamination will appear shinier. Request a sample when the exact surface effect is important.
Lamination protects the printed face and can help reduce curling, but it does not automatically make a non-waterproof sticker suitable for washing, wet bottles, outdoor exposure or prolonged moisture.

Custom Shape and Supply Format Options

The current field combines the cut shape and supply format. It should not be described as a separate list of circle, square, oval and rectangle options unless those choices are added to the calculator.

Custom Shape

The sticker and backing are cut to the supplied custom outline and provided as separate individual pieces for distribution, packing or direct application.

Kiss Cut with Single Custom Shape

One custom-shaped sticker is kiss-cut while a surrounding backing area remains intact, making it easier to peel and present as one piece.

Sheet Type with Multiple Custom Shape

Multiple custom-shaped stickers are kiss-cut and supplied together on one backing sheet for storage, repeated application and packing.

The uploaded vector cut line determines the actual outline, including circle, square, rectangle, oval or a custom logo shape. Select the format according to how the stickers should be supplied.

Upload print-ready artwork that matches the selected size, material, lamination and supply format. Image Magic provides printing and a basic preflight check; the customer remains responsible for final artwork, spelling, dimensions, metallic show-through areas and cut path.

Recommended File Setup
  • Recommended file formats: PDF, AI or EPS.
  • Prepare colour artwork in CMYK.
  • Use approximately 300 DPI at final size for raster images.
  • Outline or embed every font.
  • Prepare the file at the exact size selected online.
Metallic Show-Through Areas
  • Clearly identify areas that should remain unprinted.
  • Use a separate preview or instruction layer named “Metallic Base Visible”.
  • Do not rely on white artwork alone unless the current production template instructs you to do so.
  • Remove the instruction layer from the final print layer when required by the upload template.
Cut Line, Bleed and Safe Area
  • Add 3mm bleed on all sides when printed colour reaches the edge.
  • Supply the custom cut line as a separate vector layer.
  • Use a clearly labelled spot line or magenta vector stroke for the cut path.
  • Keep important text and logos at least 3mm inside the cut line.
  • Avoid unnecessarily complex paths and very sharp internal corners.
Colour Expectations
  • CMYK values will not look identical to printing on white stock.
  • Light colours can be influenced strongly by the metallic base.
  • Small reversed text and low-contrast details may be difficult to read.
  • Use a printed proof when brand colours or fine details are critical.
Multiple Designs
  • The minimum quantity applies to each individual artwork.
  • Different names, colours, products or versions are separate designs.
  • Clearly label each file and its required quantity.
  • Items combined in one order line must use the same selected material and finishing.

What is the difference between glossy, matte and pearl effect?

No exact match should be expected. The gold, silver or pearl base affects the final colour and reflection. Test a sample when colour consistency is important.
Will white artwork print as white?
Standard CMYK does not print white. White areas should be treated as unprinted metallic material unless a separate white-ink process has been specifically confirmed and quoted.
Are metallic stickers waterproof?
