What Is a Die-Cut Sticker?

A die-cut sticker is cut through both the printed sticker material and the backing liner. The finished outline follows the selected rectangle, square, circle, oval or custom vector path, and each sticker is supplied as an individual piece without a surrounding sheet.

How the Product Options Match the Finished Sticker

The current calculator separates size, quantity, waterproof category, material, printing, shape, lamination and production time. Match every selection to the print-ready artwork before submitting the order.

Sticker Size Select the final cut dimensions of one completed sticker, including its backing. Prepare the artwork at the same finished size.
Quantity Per Design The selected quantity applies to one artwork. Different names, flavours, colours or product versions are separate designs.
Waterproof Use this selector to identify the appropriate material group. PP Matte and PVC Gloss are the waterproof synthetic choices.
Material Type Choose one of the nine current materials according to moisture exposure, surface, appearance and cut-shape complexity.
Printing Color The standard option is Full Color Printing. Special-effect material colours can influence the final CMYK appearance.
Sticker Shape – Cut Individual Piece Choose rectangle, square, circle, oval or custom shape. The complete sticker and backing follow the selected outline.

Die-Cut Sticker Artwork Preparation

Upload print-ready artwork at the selected finished size. Image Magic performs a basic file preflight for size, bleed, cut line and colour settings; the customer remains responsible for the final artwork, spelling, dimensions and selected specifications.

Recommended File Format
  • PDF or AI is recommended, especially for custom shapes.
  • A high-resolution JPG may be suitable for simple standard shapes when no vector cut path is required.
  • Prepare colour artwork in CMYK.
  • Use 300 DPI at actual size where possible; 150 DPI is the minimum stated on the current upload page.
  • Outline or embed all fonts.
Actual Size, Bleed and Safe Area
  • Prepare the artwork at actual size using a 1:1 scale.
  • Add at least 3mm bleed when colour reaches the cut edge.
  • Keep important text and logos approximately 3–5mm inside the cut path.
  • Do not place critical information inside narrow points or close to sharp corners.
Custom Die-Cut Path
  • Provide one closed vector path for the finished sticker outline.
  • Place the path on a separate layer named “Cut Line”.
  • Use a spot colour or the magenta stroke required by the current template.
  • Avoid duplicate paths, open paths, excessive anchor points and extremely sharp internal corners.
Barcodes, QR Codes and Small Text
  • Maintain adequate contrast and quiet space.
  • Keep codes and small text away from the cut edge.
  • Test scanning at the actual printed size before a large order.

Special-Effect Materials
  • Expect CMYK colours to change on gold, silver and pearlescent bases.
  • Standard CMYK does not print opaque white.

What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut stickers?
Die-cut stickers have both the sticker and backing cut to the finished outline. Kiss-cut stickers retain a larger individual backing piece around the cut sticker.
Are die-cut stickers supplied on a sheet?
No. This product is supplied as separate individual pieces. Choose Sheet Stickers when multiple kiss-cut labels are required on one backing sheet.
Which materials are waterproof?
PP Matte and PVC Gloss are the current waterproof synthetic choices. Paper and special-effect materials should be treated as dry-use options unless their exact specification confirms otherwise.
Can lamination make paper stickers waterproof?

Can every material be cut into a complex custom shape?
Custom shapes are subject to production feasibility. Simple, smooth outlines are safer for paper, sparkle and pearlescent materials, while very narrow points or tiny sections may not cut reliably.
Which material is suitable for bottles?
PP Matte or PVC Gloss is normally more suitable for bottles exposed to normal moisture. Test adhesion on curved, chilled or low-energy plastic containers before a large order.
What is the minimum order quantity?
