Handheld Display Props for Tours, Pickups and Events

Create a portable handheld sign for airport pickups, tour groups, events, exhibitions, roadshows and guest greetings. Your supplied artwork is UV printed directly onto rigid PVC board and completed with a plastic handle attached at the back for easy carrying.

Important: This standard product is configured at 250 × 420mm. A3, A4 and custom dimensions should not be advertised as direct-order options unless they are added to the calculator.

Choose Your PVC Board Thickness

Both options are rigid PVC Hard Board. Choose according to your preferred weight and rigidity.

Lighter Option 5mm PVC Hard Board                

A rigid but relatively lightweight option that is convenient for handheld use during tours, pickups and events.

Extra Rigidity 10mm PVC Hard Board                

A thicker board option providing a more substantial and rigid display, with additional weight compared with the 5mm version.

  • Suitable where additional rigidity is preferred
  • Heavier than the 5mm option
Foam board is not currently shown in the Material Type selector. Do not advertise foam board under this standard product unless you add it as an orderable option.

Printing Options

UV Direct Printing Artwork is printed directly onto the selected PVC Hard Board.
Single-Sided Printing Print the main display artwork on the front face.
Both-Sided Printing Print different or matching artwork on the front and back surfaces.
When both-sided printing is selected, remember that the plastic handle is attached to the back of the board. Keep important back-side text, logos, QR codes and faces away from the handle attachment area.
The current selector identifies the process as UV Direct Printing. Remove the existing “UV or inkjet printing” wording to avoid confusing customers.

Handheld Construction

The display prop is designed to be carried during tours, greetings, events and promotional activities.

Plastic Handle A handheld plastic handle is attached to the back of the display board.
Portable Format Suitable for carrying between airport halls, meeting points, event spaces and tour locations.
Rigid Display Face PVC Hard Board keeps the printed message visible without requiring a separate display stand.
A separate pole option is not currently displayed in the product selector. Do not advertise “handle or pole options” unless a pole choice is added.

Need a custom-shaped board rather than a rectangular 250 × 420mm handheld sign? Use the separate Die Cut Board product for custom outlines and cut-out shapes.

Artwork Preparation Guidelines

Prepare your artwork at the current 250 × 420mm product size.

File Format and Colour
  • Accepted formats include PDF, AI, PSD and PNG.
  • PDF or AI is recommended for print-ready artwork.
  • Prepare colour artwork in CMYK mode.
  • Raster images should preferably be approximately 300 DPI at final printing size.
  • Outline or correctly embed fonts before upload.
Artwork Size and Bleed
  • Prepare artwork at 250 × 420mm finished size.
  • Add 3mm bleed when background colours or images extend to the edge.
  • Extend all full-bleed backgrounds completely through the bleed area.
  • Avoid using the outdated A3/A4/custom-size instruction for this fixed-size product.
Safe Area
  • Keep important text, logos and QR codes safely inside the trimming edge.
  • A 5–10mm internal safe margin is recommended for important information.
  • Avoid thin borders positioned very close to the outer edge.
Back Artwork and Handle Area
  • This is especially important when both-sided printing is selected.
  • A plastic handle is attached to the back surface.
  • Keep essential back-side text and logos away from the handle attachment area.
  • Do not position a QR code directly where the handle may cover or interfere with scanning.
Preparing Pickup or Tour Sign Artwork
  • Use large, easy-to-read names or group titles.
  • Maintain strong contrast between text and background.
  • Avoid placing too much small information on the sign.
  • Use clear logos, arrows or meeting-point symbols only where useful.
  • Check all guest names, flight details and event information before submission.
Before Uploading
  • Confirm 5mm or 10mm PVC Hard Board.
  • Confirm single- or both-sided UV printing.
  • Check that artwork is prepared at 250 × 420mm.
  • Check names, spelling, dates and meeting details.
  • Test any QR code from the final exported file.
  • Allow collection or delivery time after production.

Which PVC Thickness Should I Choose?

Choose 5mm When Lower Weight Is Important
  • You will carry the sign for longer periods
  • You need a lighter tour-guide display
  • The sign is used mainly for routine greetings
  • You prefer easier transport and handling
Choose 10mm When Extra Rigidity Is Preferred
  • You prefer a thicker display board
  • The sign will be reused frequently
  • A more substantial presentation is preferred
  • Additional board rigidity is more important than weight
