Current Mug Sizes and Artwork Areas

The current product selector has three standard mug variants. Each mug uses its own artwork template, so do not reuse one generic 20cm × 9cm layout for every size.

Standard Mug11oz White Mug

Current selected mug size: approximately 81mm × 95mm. Artwork area: 94mm × 225mm.

Artwork-size correction: the current product page still publishes a generic “20cm × 9cm standard mug wrap”. This conflicts with the size-specific product templates. Remove the generic measurement and use 94×225mm, 118×256mm or 107×235mm according to the selected mug.

Full-Colour Mug Printing and Printable Area

The standard product uses full-colour heat-transfer / sublimation-style printing on the outer mug surface. The artwork is prepared as a flat rectangle and transferred around the printable area of the mug.

Logo on One Viewing Side

Place the logo or message within the template so it faces the intended direction when the mug is held. Keep important content away from the handle zone.

Photo or Wide Graphic

Use the broader printable area for a photograph, illustration or panoramic layout while keeping critical details inside the template safe area.

Two-Side Visual Layout

A single flat artwork can place one visual toward the left and another toward the right. It is still ordered under the current single-sided print option because the outside mug surface is one continuous print area.

Avoid promising an exact “80% wrap” because the usable print area changes by mug shape and template. The size-specific artwork template is the more accurate production reference.

Mug Artwork Preparation

Upload print-ready artwork. Image Magic performs a basic preflight for size, margins, colour setup and print readiness; the customer remains responsible for the final design, spelling, image quality and selected specifications.

Use the Correct Mug Template
  • 11oz artwork: 94mm × 225mm.
  • 12oz Latte artwork: 118mm × 256mm.
  • 15oz artwork: 107mm × 235mm.
  • Prepare artwork at actual size, 1:1 scale.
Colour Mode
  • Use the current dedicated upload guideline: CMYK.
  • The old product-page note says RGB, which conflicts with the upload page.
  • Standardise both pages to the production-approved colour mode.
  • Final mug colour may differ slightly from an on-screen preview because of the mug surface and heat-transfer process.
Resolution and File Quality
  • Recommended image resolution: approximately 300 DPI at final size.
  • Use high-resolution photographs and logos.
  • Avoid screenshots and heavily compressed social-media images.
  • Avoid very light colours and extremely thin lines.
Fonts and Important Elements
  • Convert fonts to outlines when using vector artwork.
  • Keep logos, names and text away from the outer template edges.
  • Keep important elements clear of the mug handle area.
  • Centre the main design within the intended viewing area.
One Artwork per Order Item
  • Upload one final artwork file per order item.
  • Ensure it matches the selected mug size and quantity.
  • Do not use one artwork file for different mug-size templates.
  • Label each final file clearly with the matching mug size.
Multiple Designs
  • Add multiple artworks only when they use the same product specification and same quantity.
  • The Add Item function is not for splitting one selected quantity across different designs.
  • Different quantities should be separate order items.
  • Every design must use its correct size-specific template.

Mug Care and Print Durability

The existing page makes absolute microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe and scratch-resistant claims. Those statements should only be published when the current mug blank and coating supplier provides supporting specifications.

Use mild detergent and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners that can wear or scratch the printed surface.

Can I order one mug?

Can I print a photo and text on the same mug?
Yes. Combine the photograph, logo and text inside one final flat artwork file using the correct template for the selected mug.
Is the mug printed on both sides?
The calculator calls the option Full Color Printing (4C) – Single Sided. The artwork is a continuous flat mug-wrap layout, so you can position visual elements toward different viewing sides within the allowed printable area.
Are the mugs individually packed?
The current default Packing option is Individual Blank Box Packing.
Should mug artwork be RGB or CMYK?
The current dedicated upload page specifies CMYK, while the old product-page guideline says RGB. Standardise the website to the production-approved colour mode; the enhanced CMS follows the newer dedicated upload instruction and uses CMYK.
Why can the printed colour differ from my screen?
Screen colour, mug surface, transfer temperature and the printing process can cause normal differences between a digital preview and the finished mug.
