Artwork Preparation Guidelines

Full-bleed envelope artwork requires the exact dieline for the selected envelope code. Do not prepare only a simple finished-size rectangle.

File Format and Colour
  • PDF is the preferred print-ready format.
  • AI artwork is also accepted.
  • Prepare colour artwork in CMYK.
  • Raster images should be approximately 300 DPI at final size.
  • Outline or embed fonts before exporting.
Use the Correct Envelope Template
  • Use the template for OE4496NW, OE4496W or OE9013NW according to your selected product.
  • Prepare artwork as a flat, unfolded envelope layout.
  • Include the front, back and flap areas shown on the template.
  • Do not resize one envelope template for another envelope code.
Mandatory 3mm Bleed
  • Add 3mm bleed on all sides for this full-bleed product.
  • Extend all edge-to-edge background colours and images completely through the bleed.
  • Missing bleed may result in visible white edges after trimming.
Safe Area
  • Keep important text and logos at least 5–8mm away from trim and fold areas.
  • Keep critical information away from glue areas.
  • Follow any larger safety margin shown on the official product dieline.
Window Envelope Artwork
  • Use the OE4496W template when a window envelope is selected.
  • Keep important artwork clear of the window opening shown on the template.
  • Check the enclosed document position if an address must appear through the window.
Fold, Flap and Glue Areas
  • Keep critical text away from fold lines.
  • Avoid important artwork in glued joining areas.
  • Check the complete flat-layout orientation so graphics read correctly after folding.
Multiple Designs
  • The selected quantity applies to each design.
  • One quantity cannot be divided among several different artworks.
  • Multiple artworks with the same specification and same quantity may be added as separate jobs.
Artwork Check and Submission
  • Image Magic performs a basic technical check for size, margins, bleed and colour setup.
  • Upload print-ready artwork before 5:00 PM for the applicable production schedule.
  • Late or unsuitable artwork may affect the production schedule.
The older static guideline on the product page still mentions 5mm bleed and a 10mm safe zone. The newer dedicated upload workflow specifies 3mm bleed and a 5–8mm safe area. These should be standardised in the website admin to avoid customer confusion.
